Maggie Nowinski - Curriculum Vitae

Profile

Maggie Nowinski is an interdisciplinary visual artist, arts educator and curator who lives and works in Western Massachusetts. She is the full time faculty for the drawing program at Manchester Community College in CT and is a visiting lecturer in drawing at Smith College in MA. In 2022 she was a visiting artist at Mount Holyoke College in MA, where she designed and taught two courses in drawing and recently was an adjunct instructor in the visual fine arts programs at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and other universities. Nowinski is frequently an Artist -Mentor in the Vermont College of Fine Arts low residency MFA program.

Nowinski frequently exhibits throughout New England and her work has been in numerous exhibitions nationally. While her current body of work is rooted in drawing and printmaking, her artworks frequently take the format of installation and combine traditional and unusual media, audio, video and performative processes.  Nowinski’s philosophy is embodied by an awareness of the conceptual and political inevitability of art making. She is also fond of collaborations.
